Ribbon Blender (also named ribbon mixer) is a basic industrial mixing machine. They consist, basically, of a trough-shaped shell (usually 2 to 3 times longer than it is wide) with a semicircular bottom, fitted with a horizontal longitudinal shaft on which are mounted arms supporting a combination of ribbon blades, paddles or helical screws set at a fairly close clearance to the semicircular mixer body so that no layer of material remains on the bottom of the ribbon mixer.

It gets its name from the ribbon-shaped blades mounted on a horizontal shaft inside a U-shaped trough. These ribbons are specially designed to move material in opposite directions simultaneously – the outer ribbon pushes the material in one direction, while the inner ribbon moves it in the opposite direction.

A Sandwich Type Butterfly Valve is a compact, lightweight flow control valve widely used in pharmaceutical, food, chemical, and water industries.

It is called “sandwich type” because the valve body is designed to be mounted between two pipeline flanges (like a sandwich), without the need for separate flange ends.

🔹 Construction

Disc (Butterfly Plate): Rotates 90° to open or close the flow.

Valve Body: Slim, wafer-style body that fits between flanges.

Seat (Sealing Liner): Provides leak-proof sealing (often made of rubber, PTFE, or elastomers).

Stem & Handle / Actuator: Used to rotate the disc manually or automatically.

🔹 Working Principle

When the disc is parallel to the flow → valve is fully open, allowing maximum flow.

When the disc is perpendicular to the flow → valve is closed, blocking flow.
