Mangagoy Fishermen Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MAFISCO) was organized on August 8, 1994 by seventeen (17) fishermen, market vendors and small fishing boat operators. the cooperatives operations originates and is based in Brgy. Mangagoy, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.
Since then, MAFISCO was able to expand its operation catering the various needs of its member in:
- Micro-lending and savings
- Ice block production (combined capacity of 32 tons per day
- Rice trading
- Bottled tuna processing
From a home based processing, the coop's bottled tuna processing expanded with the establishment and operation in 2018 of its FDA-LTO accredited Bottled Tuna Processing Facility.
Bislig City is facing the rich fishing ground of Bislig Bay, the Philippine Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Thus, tuna is in abundance and a rich resource to sustained the coop's "Freshly Bottled Tuna" processed from member-fishermen fish catch.
